Archival Privacy Principles

Guidelines governing the handling of visitor correspondence, physical reading room sign-in records, and educational archive usage under the stewardship of the Meigs County Riverbend Blues Preservation Society.

Adopted by Society Trustees: Autumn 2026 • Pomeroy, Ohio

Our Educational Commitment

The Meigs County Riverbend Blues Preservation Society operates Pomeroy Blues & Riverbend Archive purely as a public educational archive and historical preservation initiative. We do not participate in commercial advertising exchanges, do not sell user demographic lists, and deploy no third-party tracking scripts, remarketing tags, or invasive browser fingerprinting tools.

Electronic Inquiries & Member Correspondence

When researchers, acoustic guitarists, or community members write to our archival desk at archive@pomeroyblues.org or our administrative address at society@pomeroyblues.org, your correspondence is received directly by curator Virgil Thornton and our volunteer preservation team.

We retain your name, email address, and research query solely to answer your questions regarding acoustic guitar setups, historical packet-boat records, or visiting our physical reading room in Pomeroy, Ohio. Correspondence is archived in our internal correspondence records and is never shared with commercial promoters, advertisers, or outside vendors.

Server Logs & Static Infrastructure

Our web application is delivered as an optimized static repository via secure global edge nodes. Standard server diagnostic logs record routine transmission data—such as internet protocol addresses, requesting browser headers, requested resource paths, and retrieval timestamps—purely to detect broken hyperlinks, monitor server bandwidth, and prevent automated distributed denial-of-service abuse. These diagnostic logs are retained on a temporary rolling basis and are not matched against individual visitor profiles.

Physical Reading Room Visitor Log

Guests visiting our physical archive room at 218 E Main St, Pomeroy, Ohio, are invited to sign our guest ledger. Signing this book is entirely voluntary; the names and hometown notes recorded within serve as historical documentation of researchers who have consulted our Meigs County musical collections.
